Calder Stewart has had a long association with cycling culture in Southland, having constructed the ILT Velodrome as a Design and Build contract in 2007 along with sponsoring teams for the Tour of Southland over the last decade.
Today our award winning ILT Velodrome has become a national landmark and enjoys a growing international reputation. But more than that, it acts as a facility to bring out the best in all Kiwi cyclists, including the budding Olympiad who aspires to race with the best. And that too is something we can all be proud of.

Calder Stewart - BikNZ's Exceptional Performance
The Calder Stewart BikeNZ National team took out line honours with Hayden Roulston winning the 2010 Powernet Tour of Southland, and the team claiming 5 stage wins.
Calder Stewart has been an active sponsor of the Tour of Southland, one of New Zealand’s most watched cycling events, for over 13 years. This year’s 2010 campaign has proven to be our most successful to date, with Team Calder Stewart turning in an exceptional performance across the board. This was in large part thanks to our teaming up with BikeNZ and our ability to assemble a truly formidable team of leading cyclists, including names all Kiwi’s who follow the sport are familiar with, including Hayden Roulston, Greg Henderson, Jeremy Vennell, Paul Odlin, Jason Christie and Brett Tivers.
A two second margin.
With 5 Stage wins between them and some considerably strategic team riding done throughout the event, Team Calder Stewart put the pressure on with 3 stages to go and in a race that will go down in history as the closest to date. It was Hayden Roulston, crossing the finish line with a 2 second margin over Jack Bauer from the Share the Road team, that won the 2010 Tour. A great event and a great finish!
