Bill Richardson Transport World

Location:
Invercargill
Area:
15800m2

Bill Richardson Transport World is a museum that houses a unique collection of vehicles including over 300 trucks and noteworthy early Ford Car and V8 collections. It is recognised as the largest private collection of its type in the world.

Specifications for this project called for an ‘art deco’ style museum to house this collection within 9,300m2 of display space.

The project also includes a café and purpose built conference and events centre.

Before completion, restoration of adjacent infrastructure to be part of the new complex had to be undertaken and included extensive remedial work along with earthquake strengthening.

Working to a deadline set by our client, this project was turned around in a tight timeframe of just 14 months, from design to completion.
