Cross Recreational Centre

The Clutha district was considering the construction of a multi-purpose community recreational centre, focusing on sports and fitness. Thanks to funding from various community trusts and input from regional sports groups, an overall plan was drafted.

We provided a customised design and build solution to meet the programme whilst also controlling costs. The design called for a large multi-court floor space area to accommodate netball, an adjacent two-level area for locker rooms, administrative offices, a dedicated meeting centre and adjacent kitchen.

The construction site for this project was located on unusual terrain which called for a ramp entrance and direct access to an adjacent field, used to support rugby and other field activities.

The complex features a unique and popular court, treated with Dynapoint rubber and polyurethane surfacing to support practice sessions of the region’s professional netball teams, including the Southern Steel.
