Escea, an emerging New Zealand manufacturer of a distinctive line of gas fireplaces, was undergoing significant growth and needed to move into a new purpose-built facility. They needed a turnkey solution to meet their needs in terms of location, operations, finance and management.
We advanced a structured lease proposal for a new factory, which was suitable to Escea’s financial position and attractive to potential investors. The facility would provide ample room to accommodate the company’s growing fabrication requirements, whilst another section would house its administrative office with an area to showcase some of its products to visitors. Separate goods in and goods out canopied loading docks were another key part of the design.
The construction site itself was situated in unusual and somewhat hilly terrain just outside Dunedin so this required careful planning around logistics. The final project’s design called for a dedicated bridge to be built to allow access from existing thoroughfares to the facility itself.
