Glassons, the popular woman’s clothing brand has been around quite some time, having been founded over a century ago. But in the course of that time, it has not stopped from reinventing itself, in order to remain relevant to changes in the women’s fashion market.

Today, Glassons find themselves progressively working online, as well as maintaining a bricks and mortar presence nationally across 36 outlets. Owner Hallenstein Glasson Holdings determined that it was time for Glassons online operations to be expanded and modernised. That is where we fit in. A new centrally located distribution centre was designated to be built in Christchurch and their team turned to us for both an ideal location and perfectly matched design and build solution. Our booming Hornby Quadrant section was selected as the locale and our team set out to provide a tailored solution with ample space for Glassons’ online operations to conduct business and fulfil orders – namely a brand new warehouse and dispatching centre.

The project included the classic Calder Stewart Property distinctives – a flexible land plus design and build package, which used structural steel, precast concrete and reinforcing building supply – all sourced from within our own group of companies. And on the ground, things went smoothly as well, with ‘a feather in the cap’ for our construction crew, who completed the build a couple weeks ahead of schedule. This was to serendipitously align with an online promotion conducted by the client, for which they were happy.
