When Mainfreight needed a new logistics freight terminal in the Invercargill area we were successful in winning the tender.
The solution provided included accommodating existing rail operations, driving 4-6 metre piles for foundation work, the use of high-quality internal materials and natural products as per the architect’s specifications.
The Mainfreight Invercargill logistics facility represents a great deal of planning, which called for eco-conscious construction throughout, including water reclamation, day/night controlled warehouse lighting and solar heating.
This project faced one noteworthy challenge during construction - the discovery of contaminated soil conditions. The containment of this was successfully addressed with no major effect on the programme.
