Sleepyhead Manufacturing Facility

Due to the Christchurch earthquakes, Sleepyhead needed a new manufacturing facility. This presented the opportunity to consolidate their two damaged factories under the roof of a new modern building.

At the core of this design and build solution was the immediate availability of land from our Hornby Quadrant development initiative, coupled with our robust construction resources. Access to our single source capabilities allowed Sleepyhead to turn past adversity into future advantage.

The completed project was engineered to the newest earthquake standards, which called for additional cross bracing of the project’s steel frame and curing chambers.

Meeting the project’s delivery date, which was under a tight schedule, was in large part achieved through the commitment of the construction team and our single source approach to precast concrete and steel, both supplied in-house, cutting down timelines and room for errors significantly.
