Dream Workshop

Showcase Project for Christchurch’s Paul Kelly

Christchurch - For Paul Kelly Motors’ team of experienced auto technicians, having a workshop they can truly be proud of explains the philosophy behind this recent build on Stevens St in Christchurch.

As Calder Stewart Regional Manager ADRIAN MATHIESON explains it, “Our construction team has a long history of building for Paul Kelly, having completed a series of upscale commercial office complexes for him along Christchurch’s Moorhouse Ave in the recent past. Our latest project for Paul, a new 1850m² workshop a little off the beaten track, required significant site remediation (due to liquefaction) including 12-metre screw piles for foundation bearing.”

The facility is unique in more ways than one. Being both spacious and tidy, it has an interesting public face. Looking out on the work floor is a reception area in which, proudly exhibited, is a group of vehicles from Paul Kelly’s own car collection. The work floor itself is equipped with state-of-the-art electronic diagnostic equipment and service tools, amply distributed and easy to access. And upstairs is an employee lounge with both an open air balcony and a picture window overlooking the floor space below. Permeating the entire facility is a sense of quality and pride - something that visiting customers can clearly sense. We like to think of it as a dream workshop.  It’s clear Paul Kelly and his entire team of service technicians are very pleased with the outcome.

“For Paul Kelly, who doesn’t compromise on quality, this new workshop is a tidy project that is set apart from your run of the mill workshops and is a reflection of Paul and what his business stands for,” says Adrian. “It truly has been a privilege to work with a client of his calibre.”
