EntX claims gold for retail at NZCPA
Almost one year to the day since Calder Stewart were honoured with the Supreme Award at the New Zealand Commercial Project Awards, they are proud to announce that EntX has been awarded Gold for Retail at this year’s awards ceremony.
Organised by the Registered Master Builders Association of New Zealand, the awards celebrate team work and excellence in commercial projects; allowing contractors and construction partners to come together and congratulate each other on quality outcomes. And this year, Calder Stewart fielded three entries across two categories, claiming bronze and silver in the Industrial category for Pack Tech Moulding and the Singh Dairy Barn respectively.
Judges commended all of Calder Stewart’s entries on their designs and construction to leading industry standards. But what set EntX apart was the collaboration between them and the tenant, HOYTS, that realised Calder Stewart’s vision to create something that has a positive impact on the city of Christchurch; supporting its ongoing recovery and revitalisation.
Designing and constructing such a complex in the middle of a growing CBD, judges were also impressed by the level of pre-planning and workmanship displayed throughout the project. The build has delivered a world-class cinema and dining complex that has set the new standard of HOYTS cinemas. And built to acoustic standards with a seismic rating of 140%, EntX exceeds Christchurch’s current seismic code by 40%.
Regional Manager, Adrian Mathieson knows that such a project wouldn’t have been achievable without the full spectrum of Calder Stewart’s services; with involvement across the board from pre-planning and design through to precast, steel, construction and distribution that assisted and supported all of this year’s entries in the awards.
